St Louis Missouri
St Louis is a very beautiful city. Hi-rise, lo-rise, yet more fabulous bridges, the stunning gateway arch... And St Louis is where I join Route 66! Cannot wait!
These were painted yesterday early evening, 80 degrees warming the sidewalks...

Indianapolis
So I find myself in downtown Indianapolis and a very cool downtown it is too, with a real quirky mix of space age hi-rise skyscrapers, nestled amongst 1930's industrial activity all wrapped up with beautiful trees and the White River. Oh, and Steve McQueen was from Indianapolis and you don't get much cooler than that!
I 70 roadkill
I know that it's not the kind of subject that usually makes great conversation but I am a little fascinated by the road kill on the I 70. I'm used to foxes and badgers in the UK but so far (this morning) I have passed 7 deer, countless raccoons, a coyote and even a turtle. Extraordinary and upsetting at the same time... and so strangely familiar as I pass giant roadside McDonalds signs every few miles, side by side with even larger signs proclaiming 'When I die God will look after me. Who will look after YOU?'
Makes me think, do deer and turtles get an afterlife too?

Pittsburgh storm
So after reading the Tornado warnings last night I wake up at 5.30 in a sleazy Super 8 to the loudest thunder and lightening that I have EVER heard!
By 7.30 I'm sitting in the car deciding wether to leave or stay, it's as dark as night with spectacular, if not a little unnerving forked lightening right over me, this coupled with thunder that rattles and roars like a sonic boom... and the rain...
Wish me luck painting today!
Well I managed to produce a study of the amazing bridges that Pittsburgh has to offer...

Asbury Park filming
So the Coast to Coast painting tour starts at Asbury Park NJ, and what better place to start!? Home of Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and my good buddy and fellow painter Jimmy Leslie. Videos filmed, portrait shots done, interviews completed and an Asbury Park painting finished... A great start...
